TAX FREE is a service through which Moto24 customers can reclaim the VAT included in products purchased from our store.
Customers wishing to use this service must request:
"The VAT refund document for foreign buyers."
The document is completed in two copies: one copy remains in the store, and the other is handed to the customer, along with the original invoice, so they can obtain customs office approval. The TAX FREE service is available only to individuals residing outside the European Union.
Documents Required for Refund:
a) The original VAT refund document, signed, dated, and stamped by the customs office where the intra-community territory is exited.
b) A copy of the invoice and the receipt stamped by the same customs office.
c) A copy of the buyer's identification document to prove permanent residence.
VAT Refund Conditions for Non-EU Resident Buyers
The supply of goods transported in the personal luggage of buyers who are not established in the European Union is exempt from VAT under the provisions of Article 294, Paragraph (1), Letter b) of the Fiscal Code, provided the following conditions are met:
a) The buyer is not established in the European Union, meaning their address or permanent residence is outside the European Union. The address or permanent residence refers to the place specified as such in a passport, identity card, or another document recognized as an identification document by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
b) The goods are transported outside the European Union before the end of the third month following the month in which the purchase occurred.
c) The total value of the purchase, including VAT, exceeds the equivalent of €175 in RON, calculated using the exchange rate on the first business day of October and valid from January 1 of the following year.
d) The goods are purchased from retail outlets authorized to sell goods granting non-EU resident buyers the right to request a VAT refund.
e) Proof of export is provided via the invoice bearing the stamp of the customs office of exit from the European Union.
