The shoulder area receives special attention from the manufacturer Alpinestars, because among the most common injuries to the upper body are on the shoulders and collarbone, the Tech-Air 5 system, minimizing trauma through the largest covered area versus other similar products.
The ultra-modern technology embedded in the Tech-Air 5 vest includes an active electronic system with 6 sensors (3 gyroscopes and 3 accelerometers) and an algorithm based on artificial intelligence that monitors and decides the triggering of the airbag in the event of a collision. The algorithm is constantly evolving and was made based on the analysis of thousands of km and hundreds of different falls of top riders in competitions such as MotoGP, and street users.
How does it work?
The monitoring software is activated after closing the magnetic contact located in the chest area and based on the data provided by the 6 sensors decides to activate the protection system. Depending on the size, the vest's inflation time is between 20 and 40 milliseconds.
Based on the tests performed, the Alpinestars Tech-Air 5 air-bag vest reduces the impact force on the body by up to 95%, compared to a passive protection.
The system is easy to use, you just have to close the zipper and the magnetic contact, and the news is active. An LED system indicates the operating status of the system, and the integrated Li-Ion battery offers a range of up to 30 hours of continuous use. The system is equipped with a micro USB magnetic socket for recharging.
